Marking the end of a first successful year in business, boutique business centre 23 Melville Street in Edinburgh has announced expansion plans.

23 Melville Street developer and local property tycoon, Brian Cormack, is currently seeking to acquire new buildings in both Edinburgh and London in a bid to expand the brand.

The Edinburgh-born businessman bought 23 Melville Street in 2007 but restoration of the building was put on hold during its use as a set to host the filming of both British and Bollywood movies. Finally opening for business in July 2011, the business centre has now reached 100% occupancy.

The 23 Melville Street business model is based upon the concept that high end does not have to mean expensive, something which has proved extremely successful in Edinburgh and something which Brian is confident he can bring to London.

He commented: “We set out to buck the trend and prove that high end needn’t necessarily mean expensive and it’s worked. We wanted to create a discreet, contemporary place to do business at a prestigious, central Edinburgh address without the hefty price tag and it’s proved extremely successful.

“Some of our meeting room clients over the past year have included the likes of Porsche and BSkyB, yet equally we have hosted fledgling SMEs and up-and-coming freelancers. Although the address might not be the same, I’m confident we can do the same again in Edinburgh and, potentially in London.

“Every penny counts in today’s economic climate because people want more to show for their money, but why should high standards cost them a packet?”
