Avanta Managed Offices has said that London businesses need to start planning for the inevitable travel problems that will be caused by the Olympic Games next summer.

London First, an organisation that works with the Capital’s leading businesses, has been providing a number of briefings to help its members minimise disruptions. London First is working with City Hall, Transport for London, the Olympic and Paralympic bodies and official sponsors, the Home Office and the Metropolitan Police to make sure that business needs are considered during the Games.

As a member of London First, Avanta has been attending briefings to make sure that plans are well under way for the Olympics and to help clients plan ahead for the disruptions. Avanta’s operations director, David Kinnaird, commented: “Avanta has a key role in sharing all of the knowledge we have so far gleaned with our clients to help them with their planning.”

The Capital will be hosting over one million ticketed spectators during the most popular event days and London-wide travel chaos is expected between 27th July – 12th August 2012. Companies will need to consider how to reduce, retime or re-route business travel during these dates.

Kinnaird also commented about concern that while large businesses are thinking ahead for next year, smaller businesses may not be so well prepared, adding: ”Smaller businesses should start planning now to minimise travel disruption to employees to ensure that their business continues to run smoothly throughout the Olympics.

Avanta will be providing coverage of the Olympics at all 18 of its business centres across the country. Clients will be able to enjoy the Games on large screen TVs throughout the serviced office centres.
