Liverpool Street spans a small section in the north-eastern corner of the City, central London. It is best known for it’s zone 1 underground station that serves four different lines; Central, Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City. It is the fifth busiest line on the underground with over 58 million passengers using it every year.
With sleek business tower blocks on one side, and the vibrant East End districts of Whitechapel and Spitalfields on the other, Liverpool Street enjoys a vibrant and bustling mix of the old and new, culture and business.
Businesses in the City district include all the major financial services of banking, accountancy, consultancy, investment, wealth management and insurance.
Much of the local business surrounding Liverpool Street is geared towards the majority of bustling businessmen and women. Think suit makers, shoe repairers, dry-cleaners, walk-in health centres, bars for after-work drinks and a great variety of eateries from sushi to steak.
Liverpool Street will also benefit from Crossrail that is due to be operational in 2019. 200m passengers will use Crossrail every year with the project increasing rail capacity in the capital by 10%. Journey times will reduce dramatically meaning Heathrow will be accessible in thirty five minutes while canary wharf will be just six minutes away.
Another interesting fact is that it is one of only four railway stations on the monopoly board!
