Since its official launch in July, The Beehive, Orega’s distinctive Gatwick business centre, has gone from strength to strength. Flourishing thanks to its sought-after business position right next to the international airport, not only has the historic centre attracted local and international companies but it has also caught the attention of the BBC!
Dating from 1936, Orega’s offices are housed within the original Gatwick Airport terminal. A grade II listed building, the centre represents a significant part of British aviation history. The iconic art deco property is now to feature in a new BBC4 series on aviation in the 1930s. Filming on site will take place very shortly and the series is due to begin broadcasting this autumn.
Several businesses have already signed up for flexible office space at the Gatwick centre amongst them global IT and business services company Logica, education technology firm It’s Learning and marine geophysical company Polarcus. This month’s newest addition is company Wensum which provides corporate uniforms to the travel, leisure and retail sectors including airlines. With plans to move in this month, Wensum has taken nine workstations at the centre, creating a new Gatwick headquarters. Additionally G&H Engineering has also signed up at the business centre. A structural steelwork company, G&H has been involved with projects at Gatwick for many years and wanted self-contained, high-quality offices nearby.
