Regus Berkeley Square Business Lounge is Innovative and Inspiring According to Dixon

Regus CEO Mark Dixon has described the new business lounge area at the company’s Berkeley Square business centre as both “innovative and inspiring“.

Regus announced expansion plans for Berkeley Square during summer 2008 which, together with the new business lounge area, included a substantial amount of additional serviced office space.  The lounge was officially opened on 10th June helping to further enhance the facilities at the sought-after centre which has always been labeled as Regus’ landmark UK property.

Designed by architects Barr Gazetas, the business lounge has been created with a specific boutique, hotel style in mind.  Here clients and visitors, including Britain’s ever-increasing number of mobile and home workers, can come and work in an easy-access work area with stunning interior design.  Workers are offered a host of facilities including complimentary refreshments, internet and phone, comfortable seating, print from blackberry capabilities and IT and administrative support.

Dixon commented: “We are redefining the world of work, offering business of all sizes flexible, innovative and inspiring locations in which to meet, work and collaborate. In response to rising demand from these organisations we are augmenting and expanding our existing business lounge network around the globe, as we look to better enable the workers of today and tomorrow.”

Since the recession began to bite last year companies have been looking to reduce overheads and cut physical office space to the bare bone. Businesses are encouraging staff to stay mobile and Regus has responded with the expansion of its mobile working products.  The opening of the Berkeley Square business lounge closely follows the introduction of the new Smart Card concept where clients pay a one off monthly charge for unlimited access to Regus’ business centres nationwide.  In an interview with The Times last month Dixon said: “This is changing the whole face of real estate, which has been very fixed around the idea that we’ve got this building and everyone has to come to that building.“  The market is changing, and Regus’ business lounge expansion, together with its new Smart Card concept, demonstrate the operator’s attempt to co-evolve with the shifting demand for work space.
