Serviced Offices in Exeter Going Strong During Recession

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Serviced Offices in Exeter are reporting success despite the recession as operator Forsyth continues with UK expansion plans during the downturn.

A leading British Serviced Office company with an extensive UK portfolio, Forsyth Business Centres has reported that 11 clients have now signed at their central Exeter Serviced Office centre as renting businesses continue to show favour towards flexible leasing amidst a tough economy.

Forsyth’s Exeter centre has continued to prove a popular choice for South West businesses and the company remains confident that this trend will grow with current market conditions.  Offices are fully Serviced, ready for immediate occupancy and offer flexible lease terms.  These conditions are appealing to companies that are looking for an alternative to long term leasing commitments and with short notice period terms and minimal deposits companies are able to reduce their capital outlay, ideal for start ups and those looking to cut back on initial renting costs.

James Ashton, Regional Manager for Forsyth commented: “Leading professionals and corporates are now choosing prime city centre office space in Exeter as their preferred option to capitalise on flexible lease options and to beat the trying economic times. Office space like this provides an immediate, cost effective solution to having a presence here rather than committing to huge lease terms.“

One of the most notable tenants to sign up at Forsyth’s Exeter Centre is one of the UK’s leading hotel operators Jury’s Inns.  Jury is currently in the process of constructing a 170 bed hotel in Exeter’s city centre and has chosen Forsyth’s Serviced Offices as a base for a flexible pre-opening office for the project.

General manager of Jury’s Inns in Exeter, Graham Hole reportedly said: “We have a total need for flexibility of lease terms as we are tied to the constraints of the hotel’s construction process and know that we can speak to Forsyth at any time and either extend or reduce our lease terms to suit without it being an issue….Equally, Jury’s Inns business requirements demand the highest standard of office space so that we can meet clients, use meeting rooms and carry out our operations in a professional and welcoming environment.“

The Exeter Offices themselves are fully furnished to a high standard and air conditioned throughout.  Onsite clients can enjoy use of the kitchen facilities, showers, extensive conferencing and meeting rooms and plenty of car parking. Offices are housed in a prominent, modern building which boasts a great business address; centrally located in Exeter’s bustling city!  Sitting opposite the crown courts and a short walk from the main shopping drag, Offices are just half a mile from Exeter’s mainline station and under 5 miles from Exeter International Airport, making this an ideal base for both UK and international businesses!

  1. I think its now beyond reasonable doubt that serviced offices are a great alternative right now for uk comapnies and money saving. It will be interesting to see what happens long term though – do companies really want to rent serviced for more than 12 months?

Having the ability to adapt quickly to changing and challenging market conditions is what has made the Forsyth Business Centre in Exeter such a success. The centre was opened 18 months ago and is already home to a wide range of small to medium size companies seeking the convenience and prestige of a landmark city centre office building without the constraints that taking more conventional space can impose.

Forsyth is located within The Senate, the largest and best specified building to be constructed in Exeter, situated within the central business district of Southernhay Gardens. Walking through the office areas, you are immediately impressed by the professional feel to the Business Centre and the attention to detail in the facilities on offer.

Forsyth’s pragmatic approach to leasing agreements gives the tenants ultimate flexibility on how much space they occupy and for how long, which is vital during times of economic uncertainty. For new companies there is the advantage that all suites come fully furnished, and having a staffed reception and use of meeting and conference rooms as well as generous kitchen areas give the feel you are part of a much larger organisation.

There is now an opportunity for an occupier to take the largest suite now available that extends to 414 m² (4,455 sq ft), a unique chance for a medium sized company to occupy the best building in Exeter. This space could be divided further to provide smaller suites of similar or varying sizes whereas the space permutations elsewhere in the building only cater for much larger occupiers needing 745 m² (8,000 sq ft) and above.
