With over <a href=\"https:\/\/financesonline.com\/number-of-facebook-employees\/#:~:text=In%20a%20study%20ranking%20the,hunters%20(Downey%2C%202019).\"><strong>15,000 employees<\/strong><\/a> in Silicon Valley alone, Facebook was a fairly early adopter of shared office space, renting whole coworking buildings or floors to house huge numbers of employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post-pandemic, Meta is fully embracing a culture of remote work and the option for its employees to work from any location, whether that be their home or a shared office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, it was announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siliconvalley.com\/2021\/06\/09\/facebook-says-it-will-expand-remote-work-to-all-employees\/\"><strong>all employees could request to work remotely<\/strong><\/a> if their job could be done out of an office, but noted that salaries would be adjusted if they were working from a lower-cost region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a company with over <a href=\"https:\/\/craft.co\/facebook\"><strong>65,000 employees<\/strong><\/a> worldwide, Meta utilises a combination of workspace options &#8211; not just coworking space. The company has <a href=\"https:\/\/about.facebook.com\/media-gallery\/offices-around-the-world\/\"><strong>39 office locations<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>in addition to the shared office spaces used by its global workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><strong>&nbsp;IBM<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Another early adopter of shared office spaces, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techwire.net\/news\/microsoft-ibm-look-to-co-working-spaces-for-startup-inspiration.html\"><strong>IBM has been using rented offices since around 2014<\/strong><\/a> when it leased space in around eight offices worldwide.
