The money went to <a title=\"Rays of Sunshine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raysofsunshine.org.uk\/\">Rays of Sunshine<\/a>, <a title=\"Jeans for Genes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jeansforgenesday.com\/\">Jeans for Genes<\/a> and <a title=\"Dogs Trust\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dogstrust.org.uk\/\">Dogs Trust<\/a>. Each month business centre managers are given the opportunity to nominate a charity of their choice which will receive a donation of up to &#126;600 per year.<\/p>\n<p>The operator has also announced that it will be further encouraging employees to support their own charities this year by allowing 3 full days of paid leave for all staff to take part in charity work of their choice. Managing director of Business Environment, David Saul, commented: &#8220;Being a socially responsible business is not just important for the communities your company operates in, but also for the development opportunities it offers your employees. We believe everyone should support charities important to them so we&#8217;ve increased our commitment and support for our teams this year&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>This year UK charities are facing funding cuts of more than &#126;1bn. Many charities are also reporting a drop in donations. David said: &#8220;For businesses, I believe it&#8217;s important to be wary of the paradox of thriftily abandoning charitable initiatives and CSR efforts when times are tough.
