{"id":7852,"date":"2012-09-26T09:37:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-26T08:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.easyoffices.com\/blog\/?p=7852"},"modified":"2012-09-26T09:37:00","modified_gmt":"2012-09-26T08:37:00","slug":"bca-to-hold-house-of-commons-reception-on-empty-property-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.easyoffices.com\/blog\/business-advice-and-news\/bca-to-hold-house-of-commons-reception-on-empty-property-rates","title":{"rendered":"BCA to Hold House of Commons Reception on Empty Property Rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Business Centre Association (BCA) will be holding a House of Commons reception next month to help reinforce its message asking the government to reevaluate the current laws concerning Empty Property Rates.<\/p>\n<p>The BCA has held a relentless campaign against the Empty Property Rates tax, petitioning the Government to lower the rateable value on rates and extend the time for which rates are not payable to a minimum of two years. The BCA hopes that abolishing current rates will help improve investor confidence in property, encourage development and offer financial relief to organisations within the SME bracket.<\/p>\n<p>The House of Commons reception will be held on Wednesday 24 October 2012 with MP for York Outer, Julian Sturdy, acting as host MP for the BCA. Mr. Sturdy has been actively campaigning on Empty Property Rates in the commons and is an avid supporter of small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The reception will provide a chance for the BCA to reinforce its message against the rates which it initially put forth to the House back in February, lobbying to over 70 MPs and Peers.<\/p>\n<p>With the Chancellor&#8217;s Autumn Statement fast approaching the BCA has invited MP&#8217;s across the country to the reception. As a nationwide campaign it is essential that MPs from all regions attend and the BCA is now calling on support from members to contact their local constituents and urge MPs them to take part in order to express their concerns.<\/p>\n<p>You can help support the BCA in their campaign against Empty Property Rates by contacting your local MP.
