Congratulations to serviced office<\/a> operator Business Environment which scooped a “Social Communication“ award at this year’s Interact Intranet awards.<\/p>\n

The annual Interact awards recognise outstanding achievements made by companies that communicate through the use of intranets. The award for “Outstanding Social Intranet 2012“ was presented to Business Environment earlier this month at the yearly Interact conference held in London.<\/p>\n

Business Environment has had an Intranet for a number of years but at the beginning of this year the decision was made to improve the service which is known as The Lounge. The intranet is a primary resource that provides quality content on all group information as well as offering social updates and allowing for employee interaction.<\/p>\n

Offering an important resource for all departments, The Lounge has helped to save the company both time and money by allowing personnel to quickly complete forms and holiday bookings online.<\/p>\n

Intranet and Extranet Manager at Business Environment, Jo Vass, commented: “We are delighted that our intranet has been recognised as the best social communication intranet in the UK. The entire intranet is focused around engagement and encouraging continued repeat visits. By putting things like forms on to The Lounge we have reduced paper use across our business by over one third and reduced employee time by 25%“.<\/p>\n

David Saul, Business Environment Managing Director, also said: “We have had an intranet now for over 4 years but took the decision this year to raise the bar. It was important to get every member of the team to see The Lounge as the primary information resource across the group. The work that has been done to create a social area with updated content has been very well received. By developing the Intranet we have seen a number of cost savings for the company and a significant improvement in our ability to communicate across all levels of the business“.<\/p>\n
