A sustainable business park in Basingstoke has continued to show support to a local charity with the donation of 500 drinking glasses.

The team at Chineham Park near central Basingstoke were keen to find a use for the drinking glasses which were used onsite as part of a photo shoot. The 500 glasses were donated to local children’s hospice Naomi House which provides support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across central southern England.

Managing Director at MEPC Chineham Park, Rupert Batho, commented: “Once the glasses had fulfilled their purpose, I knew that they should not just be thrown away. As we have supported Naomi House in the past, we made contact to see if they would be put to good use there”.

Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust, known as Naomi House, offers care that includes planned and emergency respite stays, end of life and bereavement care. This support is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Corporate Fundraiser at Naomi House, Tina Starbuck, said: “We are always grateful for donations like this as it means our resources can be put to better use. The glasses are used regularly at the hospice and we are very thankful to Chineham Park for thinking of Naomi House. We really appreciate the continuing support we receive from  Rupert and his team. ”

Chineham Park was created over two decades ago by MEPC. Designed as one of the most sustainable business communities in Britain, the thriving business park is currently home to more than 50 companies from a range of industries.
