St Mary Axe Office Space Looks Set to Increase

Reading Time: < 1

Office Space in St Mary Axe may be on the rise after Targetfollow’s plans for a 90 metre office block tower has been given the go ahead.   Following our article “Square Mile Offices to Rent on the Increase”  the leading commercial property investment and development company have had their plans approved by The City of London Corporation to construct the 300,000 sq ft development in the popular St Mary Axe area.  The building is to be situated at 60-70 St Mary Axe, adding to the eastern cluster of offices on the Square Mile.  However the scheme remains subject to funding as London city schemes remain risky amidst a struggling office market.

If constructed, the new building, nicknamed the “Tin of Ham”, because of its unusual semi-elliptical design, will add substantially to current St Mary Axe office space, with 22 floors of offices and ground floor shops to be constructed between the iconic “Gherkin” and Heron Tower.

This will be the second St Mary Axe property associated with TargetFollow as affiliated serviced office company TargetSpace currently operates from St Mary Axe at an impressive glass-fronted building, seen above.
