    Slough is a town in the South East of England, close to West London. It is surrounded by nearby towns Windsor, Maidenhead, Uxbridge and Beaconsfield. The opening of Slough railway station in 1840 injected growth into the town, and its current population stands at approximately 140,000. Sloughs size is 7 miles east to west and approximately 3 miles north to south. Slough has its very own museum, based on the ground floor of Slough library. It stores over 100,000 photographs and pictures of Slough town and its development in history.    Since the 1960’s, employment opportunities and location have drawn people to Slough, and it is now very ethnically diverse and multicultural. Many have found Slough to be a good living location choice for its close commute into London and its affordable accommodation, attracting both young professionals and large families into the area.   Despite being a predominantly urban area there are over 60 parks, recreational grounds, green spaces and woodland areas within the Borough of Slough.
