Chair of the Business Centre Association to Marry This Weekend

Julie Calder, chair of the Business Centre Association, will sport a new surname from Saturday ( 5 June) when she marries her childhood friend Neil Grieve in Edinburgh’s Merchants’ Hall.

Julie and Neil have opted for a traditional Scottish wedding, complete with kilts, bagpipes and dancing, for 60 guests. All Julie’s organisational skills have been put to the test in planning the event as the wedding date was set only nine weeks ago!

The choice of venue was easy as it is the headquarters of the Merchant Company of Edinburgh of which Julie is a member. Following the marriage ceremony by the minister in the main hall, the newly married Grieves will ascend the stairs and when they return the grand room will be transformed for the reception – ‘rather like the BCA’s annual conference dinner!’ says Julie.

But one accessory that Julie definitely won’t have on this Big Day is her mobile ‘phone, having promised her new husband to be that it will be left at home.

Julie, who is also MD of Abbey Business Centres, will be returning to work next Wednesday (9 June) as she and Neil will take a proper honeymoon later in the year.
