It was fourth time lucky for eleven brave souls from flexible office provider Orega who defied common sense on Saturday (25 September) to leap 12,000 feet from a plane in aid of charity.
The weather finally provided the right conditions for the jump after three previous attempts over the last year had to be aborted.
The skydive raised the princely sum of over Ă‚Ĺ6,000 for CHASE Hospice Care for Children. The charity supports families with children who are not expected to live to reach their 19th birthday, across South West London, Surrey and Sussex.
At the tandem parachute jump on Saturday, Orega’s managing directors Paul Finch and Zach Douglas were joined by fearless representatives from Orega business centres around the country.
No mishaps were reported after the leap of faith at Hinton Airfield, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, thanks to weeks of hard training. “We’d embarked on a strict fitness regime in readiness for our jump,” reported Sarah Dodd who helped co-ordinate the Orega team’s efforts. “This consisted of pacing the floor, a lot of nail biting and the occasional tiny star jump. Our inability to hold any food down also helped us to slim to the aerodynamic projectiles you can see in the photos.”
Zach Douglas added that all the participants should give themselves an enormous pat on the back for a magnificent effort. Those taking part were Emma Beminster, Michelle Boxell, Jessica Cox, Zoe Cruickshanks, Helen Davies, Jessica Parsons, Gemma Walker, Barbara Wiercioch and Suzanna Williams, as well as Zach Douglas and Paul Finch.
After all the excitement of the weekend, the Orega team were keen to get back to their day jobs!
