Olympic rowing legend, Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE, will host a charity dinner and auction on Wednesday 02 March 2011 in aid of Sparks, the children’s medical research charity, which will be sponsored by serviced office operator, Avanta.

The event will take place at Vanilla, the stylish West End bar and restaurant in Great Titchfield Street, where guests will be treated to a fantastic three course meal. Following dinner, Sir Matthew will host a Q&A session and then an auction. Some of the prizes on offer include a three night stay courtesy of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and a Ferrari driving experience, just to name a couple.

“We’ve been supporting Sparks for a number of years, so I’m absolutely thrilled that Sir Matthew Pinsent will be hosting this event,” comments David Alberto, Avanta’s managing director. “Our rugby themed dinner last April was an outstanding success and raised more than ÂŁ6,500 for Sparks, so I’m optimistic that we’ll beat that figure and get Sparks 2011 fundraising efforts off to a great start.”

“This event and others like it will help us to fund crucial medical research into a vast range of conditions that affect children and babies,” says Ikram Dahman, Director of Development at Sparks, “We’re very grateful to Avanta and Sir Matthew Pinsent for supporting Sparks and helping us to have a positive impact on children’s health in the future.”
