Citibase Serviced Offices Target Start-ups Amid Recession

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Serviced Office Company Citibase has announced aggressive expansion plans that will see the firm increase their current UK serviced office portfolio two times over.  The company will become AIM listed later this month in a bid to generate liquidity to help fund the expansion which will take them to a total of 42 office business centres over 3 years.

Following yesterday’s article “Serviced Office Company UBC Review Expansion Plans for 2009” , the recession does not yet appear to be quashing the growth of the serviced office industry with new properties continuing to come to the market.  Property Week, has reported that Citibase is hoping to capitalise on the number of small business ventures looking for office space which is expected to increase into next year with recession redundancy casualties.  And indeed now is a good time for office space companies to target start ups with rising redundancy levels expected to continue well into 2009.   The ready-to-go, good value office space offered by Citibase and UBC alike should hold its own amidst a market where start ups will be looking for the best value space around.

A rise in the amount of SME targeted office space could be on the horizon for the serviced office industry next year as Easy Offices sales advisors have reported an increase in the enquiry levels for one and two person offices going to deal in recent months.
