Top London Office Locations

Reading Time: 3 minutes

topofficelocationslondonLondon is Europe’s most visited city and also has more workers within its central district than any other capital on the continent.

Latest figures suggest that more than 400,000 people are employed in the City of London, with almost 130,000 employed in Canary Wharf alone.

Serviced office space throughout the capital is available in a number of prime locations with a huge variety of styles that can cater for any type of industry or company, no matter how large or small.

The New “EastEnders”

Traditionally London has focused on two central locations, The City and West End, but the growth of East London has brought a vibrant new area for industry to locate to. Areas that arose from the Olympic legacy of 2012 have continued to thrive long after the games ended.

As we previously discussed, places such as Leyton, with its excellent transport hub and Stratford which has prospered alongside its giant retail development Stratford Westfield City and Bow, mix modern young businesses with traditional East End locations in converted factories, to become sought-after locations in an up-and-coming district of the city.

Shoreditch is the home of another prized location – East London Tech City, which is also known as the Silicon Roundabout. Both local and national government have encouraged the cluster of technological companies to flock there in the hope it can become the UK equivalent of the world famous Silicon Valley in the United States. There has been substantial investment in the area from global giants including Google, Cisco, Facebook and Intel.

An address with prestige

One of the capital’s most prestigious business addresses is Mayfair, which is to be expected when it is home to the Queen. Once a largely residential area, it is now home to a burgeoning commercial community clustered around its three Zone 1 tube stations; Marble Arch, Green Park and Bond Street.

As its name suggests Bank is a popular location for the financial sector and is home to the Bank of England, which lends its name to the tube station, one of the city’s most widely used. Serviced office space in the streets surrounding the bank – famously known as The Old Lady of Threadneedle Street since the 18th century – are among the most desirable locations in the entire city.

Soho has become one of the city’s most fashionable locations, with its cobbled streets, quaint bars, small theatres and teeming nightlife drawing in thousands of visitors and also making it a prime location for businesses in industries such as media and finance. It has five tube stations to whisk workers in and out with little fuss.

Should I consider serviced offices in London?

In any of these enviable London locations many bosses are opting for the convenience of serviced office space for a number of reasons.

The offices come equipped with furniture, kitchen facilities, may already be set up with telephones and broadband access and you may be lucky enough to have someone on hand to help support your business in the initial set-up stage and beyond.

The services sector offers flexibility in the lease, making them easy to move into and out of without the upheaval of moving masses of furniture and storage. Rental deposits are minimal which means the initial outlay isn’t a huge burden when your business least needs it.
