Serviced Offices Didsbury | Why is only Regus Serviced Offices there?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

With virtually no competition, the UKs largest supplier of Serviced Offices, Regus Plc, have the Didsbury flexible office market cornered.   Ok, Didsbury may not be the first place where you would think of to set up a business but Easy Offices have seen an increased amount of interest in the Greater Manchester City recently and we wanted to know what it was about the area that has apparently become so appealing for companies.  Upon reflection, we were surprised by the amount on offer at this relatively small district.

For a start Didsbury’s economic figures are impressive.  The city tops the rest of the UK with its employment figures; with unemployment levels of just 4% Didsbury makes for a thriving little community.

Didsbury also has some excellent transport links which, with the Metrolink expansions now in full swing, will be significantly improved over the coming years.  As reported in our article of 2nd July “Manchester Office Occupiers on the Move“, proposals to extend the Manchester Metrolink through Disbury are currently in progress and are likely to be implemented by 2012.  These extensions will help to heighten Didsbury’s communication links and place the area firmly on the map as a great business location for comprehensive transport links.  Furthermore, Manchester central is within easy reach of the suburb which sits close to junction 5 of the Manchester ring road, the M60 motorway.  International links are also readily available with Manchester Airport located a rough 4 miles to the south of the city.

Many of Regus’ major serviced office competitors are trading in Didsbury’s surrounding areas.   MWB are situated near Manchester Airport and provider Bruntwood is only up the road in Cheadle, not forgetting the newly opened managed offices of operator Magnus Offices with various properties within close proximity of the airport.  However Didsbury itself remains monopolised by the serviced office giants Regus and Easy Offices feel that, should tennant interest in the area continue to grow, and with the 2012 metrolink project promising increased communication links into Manchester Central, there may well be further serviced office operator interest in the area in the not too distant future.  However, having set the bar high with their fantastic, contemporary serviced office building, new competitors will have to fight hard to top Regus’ current property situated at the Towers Business Park.

  1. With office rental increasing, it doesn’t make much sense to have a physical office. I believe the future of most businesses will be virtual and leveraging off using a virtual office space.

  2. Serviced Offices Manchester

All the business park locations around Manchester have suffered a slump in recent years, so it is no surprise that no other operator has opted to open a new centre in Didsbury.

It is also just inside the M60, meaning it’s on the wrong side of the proposed outer ring for congestion charging, which is sure to benefit centres in Cheadle and the airport.
