Avanta Continues with Charity Fund Raising!

Following the success of previous fund raisers serviced office company Avanta, one of the UK’s leading operators of flexible office space solutions, has announced that they will be supporting a charity ball to raise funds for worthwhile causes across Croydon, and the children’s charity, Sparks!

To be held on Tuesday 19th May 2009 the Croydon Charity Ball, which this year hopes to raise ~50,000 in support of both The Croydon Commitment and Sparks Charities, is a prestigious gala evening taking place in a marquee on the pitch at Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace Football Club.

Now in its seventh year the event has raised in excess of ~250,000 for local charities and has attracted some big name sponsors with Barclays and Mondial Assistance also supporting the event alongside Avanta.  Some celebrity names will also be attending with broadcaster David Jensen hosting the evening which will feature live entertainment, including comedian Ian Irving as well as a dance band.

Avanta has been a long-standing supporter of Sparks, enjoying a special relationship with the children’s medical research charity.   The company sponsors the annual Sparks Race Day at Kempton Park, the increasingly popular fixture in the commercial property social calendar.  Last Christmas the company sponsored the Sparks Winter Ball, a glittering annual event attended by a host of top sporting and entertainment personalities.

David Alberto, Avanta’s Chief Executive, said: “Sparks supports some of the most important research being undertaken today into childhood illnesses and we’re delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile cause.  Despite the current economic climate, Avanta is committed to maintaining its level of support to the charity and we look forward to our involvement in other forthcoming events in the year ahead.  The Croydon Ball promises to be a fantastic evening and I am sure the event will be a great success.“

Phil Alexander, Chief Executive of Crystal Palace Football Club and founder of the event, said “The Croydon Charity Ball has been running for 7 years now and the event has got bigger and better each year. We are delighted to welcome Avanta as joint sponsors along with Barclays bank and I am sure their guests will have a memorable evening. Their support is hugely appreciated. This year the proceeds of the Ball will be split evenly between Sparks children’s charity and The Croydon Commitment Trust, an organisation set up to assist charities in Croydon. Any companies wishing to attend would be most welcome.”

Paul Connew, Sparks Director of Communications, said: “We’re delighted to be a benefiting charity partner of the Croydon Charity Ball. The event is obviously a fantastic occasion that has proved increasingly successful over the last 7 years and made an important contribution to so many worthy causes.

“Avanta’s support for Sparks is a very valuable relationship and has made a tremendous contribution to our paediatric medical research mission. Sparks is at the forefront of cutting edge medical research for children and recently launched ‘George’s Appeal’ with the aim of raising ~2million to combat neuroblastoma, the biggest single cancer killer of the Under 5’s. It has been launched in memory of George Yeomans, a very brave little boy who helped raise awareness of Sparks pioneering research in the field.“

The London-based serviced office company is currently offering occupiers in the UK and abroad highly flexible, unbranded office space.  This flexibility is underpinned by competitively priced and transparent fixed-costs, so occupiers can account for every penny they are spending on their office needs.  The formula attracts small and medium sized businesses to FTSE 250 companies alike.  The theory that a small business occupier and a major corporate want the same thing and are largely driven by location, quality and price, is central to Avanta’s business philosophy.
