Avanta is launching a virtual raffle in aid of Sparks with the aim of raising ~5,000 for the children’s medical charity.

The ~5 tickets went on sale at the beginning of December at www.justgiving.com/avanta-raffle and prizes include a luxury weekend hotel break; high value Selfridges and Next shopping vouchers, an Amazon Kindle as well as gorgeous Jo Malone bath products. The draw for the prizes will be held on 2nd March 2011 with winning tickets drawn by rowing legend, Sir Matthew Pinsent.

“This is a great initiative to get all of our business centre clients, and friends of Avanta, involved in spreading the word about the valuable work performed by the charity as well as raising valuable funds for such a worthwhile cause,“ comments David Alberto, Avanta’s managing director. “We hope to sell at least 1,000 tickets to help get our 2011 Spark’s fund-raising appeal off to a great start.“

Karen Billington, Sparks spokesperson said “Many people simply don’t realise that the majority of pioneering medical research projects for children in the UK depend on charities like Sparks and not the public purse.

“That stark fact makes the role of corporate support that we receive from serviced office provider Avanta absolutely vital to the challenge of making the discoveries that give more children the chance to survive and thrive. Without such support, much of that important lifesaving and life-enhancing research simply wouldn’t kick off and that would be tragic. The money raised by Avanta’s virtual raffle will help Sparks-funded doctors and researchers give more children the chance of a healthy, winning future.“
