York-based commercial property expert David Harrop has been appointed to the Board of one of the UK’s leading serviced office providers, Forsyth Business Centres.
David, Finance Director at Forsyth, has worked for the company for just over two years and has played a major part in Forsyth’s aggressive nationwide expansion.
David said: “Receiving this recognition from the Board for the progress we have made as a team at Forsyth in driving the business forward means a great deal to me. The last two years with the company have flown by and I have learnt an enormous amount. I am confident that our ability to adapt to the changing market place will allow Forsyth to emerge as one of the leading players in a consolidated serviced office market.”
David’s appointment comes as Forsyth announces its best ever financial results, with turnover up 25 per cent to £6.3m for the year 2008/09. The company has grown from 12 to 23 centres in the last 12 months and now operates more than 200,000 sq ft of office space nationwide.
David said: “The recession has emphasised the need for businesses to manage risk and maximise the flexibility of their cost base. In property terms this will only accelerate the trend of companies moving from the expense and long term commitment required for conventionally leased space to the flexibility of serviced offices.
“At Forsyth we now have an expanding, truly national network of excellent serviced offices where clients will find the facilities they need on flexible terms; thus allowing them to concentrate on their business and leave the property side to us.”
Scott McCabe, Forsyth Director said: “We’re delighted to welcome David to the Forsyth board. He has been a loyal employee at Forsyth for more than two years and in that time has played a huge part in Forsyth’s national success by helping to secure some of the company’s most lucrative deals – so it is a well-deserved appointment.”
