You don’t need us to tell you what a great job the Teenage Cancer Trust does for their patients and extended families.
So when they approached Abbey Business Centres looking for a Central Manchester conference venue and meeting facility, we were delighted to offer them the use of our rooms on Fountain Street.
So what exactly did they need the meeting venue for? The charity, which doesn’t occupy office space outside of London, needed somewhere to organise their regional ‘Meet Teenage Cancer Trust Open Evening’
The open evening itself took place at a pre-arranged private venue – but the charity needed a venue to prepare the mailing and for volunteers to pop by and help out with the administration for the event. Thanks to the use of Abbey’s meeting room facilities in Manchester, all this was possible and the ‘Meet the Teenage Cancer Trust Open Evening’ was a major success.
One of the new supporters who attended the event is currently putting together a Fundraising Dinner Dance to be held at one of the city’s best hotels in October where they hope to raise a very cool ~15,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust Young Oncology unit at The Christie Hospital in Manchester. This facility treats teenagers with cancer, aged 16-24 from all over the North West – with some visiting from as far away as Cumbria and North Wales.
Deborah Drinkall, Regional Fundraiser Manager for Teenage Cancer Trust has high praise for the Abbey Manchester team. “I can’t thank Karen Bray and the team at Abbey in Manchester enough for their assistance during our visit to the centre – they certainly made a lasting impression on myself and all the other Teenage Cancer Trust patrons who dropped in on the day.“
