The latest adaption of Ian Fleming’s hero has broken U.S. Box Office Records, grossing nearly $90 million in the opening weekend alone. As with all Bond films the action is global with filming in Istanbul, Shanghai and there was extensive footage shown around the UK.

There were 31 sets on 8 sound stages alone at the famous Pinewood Studios and nine different locations were chosen in London. The infamous MI6 building in Vauxhall, blown up in the film, a Canary Wharf pool was used in another shot and the opening scene with its symbolic view of London’s famous skyline is set atop the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC) close to Charing Cross and Embankment.

Some ‘Artistic Licence’ was used when choosing sets however, where else could the Old Vic tunnels underneath Waterloo Station serve as MI6’s Training Centre and London’s Broadgate Tower was cast as an impressive skyscraper in Shanghai. Extensive filming was also set in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands, the Bond family’s Ancestral home about three hours drive North of both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Sam Mendes’ latest creation was warmly reviewed by critics prior to release and seems just as popular with the public, seemingly breaking records at will. It’s the usual Bond mix of Glamour, Style and Fast Cars, Ben Collins more famously known as the ex Stig is doing the stunt driving for Daniel Craig, although the Bond actor is rumoured to be a more than competent driver himself.

Most of the team here at Easy Offices have now seen it and from the last round of figures announced it seems like so have most of the public! Let us know what you think and what your favourite moments were.
