Business Environment to Offer Satellite Office Space During the Olympics

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The 2012 Olympic Games are fast approaching and, with them, the looming prospect of transport chaos across the Capital. In order to help London businesses avoid the inevitable Olympic travel problems this summer Business Environment has announced that it will be creating satellite offices at a number of its out of London locations.

The serviced office operator will be offering the temporary satellite offices for use throughout the Olympics and Paralympic games from common commuter locations like the Thames Valley  and also Bristol. They will be available to existing clients as well as London businesses that are looking for a viable alternative to travelling in and out of the Capital during the games season.

It is thought that 800,000 additional people will be travelling throughout London at Olympic peak times. Business Environment is urging businesses to plan ahead to avoid the congestion and, following this week’s announcements of potential strike action by unions during the Olympics, the operator has reported that it is now seeing a number of enquiries for “Olympic” office space.

Managing Director for Business Environment, David Saul, commented: “The news has made a large number of businesses review their Olympic plans for the first time, and the potential difficulties their businesses will face this summer. We want to support our clients businesses by providing a simple solution to get their teams to work.”

Business Environment offered the satellite space concept last year during the London travel disruption caused by the tube strikes. Office space is available to both small and larger companies with clients receiving business broadband and telephone services.

David added: “Companies should start reviewing their travel plans now if they haven’t already started. It will be vital to every London business to ensure everything still functions and our Olympic space is a quick way to ensure businesses stay open for business.”

The newly created satellite offices will be available at locations including Milton Keynes, Reading, Basingstoke and Wembley.

This is great idea, as a small London business we are lucky enough to be able to work from the MD’s house for the period during the games but this will surely be a nightmare for companies that decide to stay in London. We’ve heard very little lately about government plans for the underground!

Many businesses like to expand their pool of employee prospects across geographic boundaries. And this step is one of the best innovative methods I see in the foreseeable future.
