The Business Centre Association has announced that the keynote speaker at next year’s BCA conference will be Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone UK.

The BCA conference will be held at Senate House, University of London on Thursday 16th May 2013. The annual event is dedicated to the flexible space sector and the only conference of its kind within the industry.

Having started his career at Vodafone in 2000, Guy became CEO of the mobile phone firm in January 2009. Before joining the company Guy worked mainly in the media industry with experience within the cinema, film, television and music sectors. For a period he worked at MGM Studios where he was involved in the marketing of James Bond films.

As a businessman, Guy has become known for using unconventional methods to shake up company performance. He worked as CEO of Vodafone’s branch in the Netherlands for three years during which time the firm outperformed its competitors in a market with over 50 mobile brands.

Guy is a keen supporter of new and fledgling businesses and, as such, an excellent choice of speaker for the BCA conference; the event will be discussing the flexible office space industry which provides the perfect environment for Britain’s entrepreneurs to start up each year.

Vodafone will be launching an incubation centre at Tech City in London later this year. The centre will offer support and technology for start up businesses working within the mobile and creative industries.
