• i2 Office has been given an award for being the fastest growing serviced office operator by leading managed IT and communications services firm Essensys. Launched in Milton Keynes in 2009 the technology-savvy operator has enjoyed a fast expansion into major cities Leeds and Glasgow and has also opened three business centres in central London. After receiving recognition at a recent Essensys day event i2 Office CEO, Philip Grace, commented that the team are “delighted” to receive the award, adding: “The fact that they (Essensys) have selected i2 Office for this award confirms to the industry that we are growing from strength to strength.” #
• Portal Business Centres in Warrington will be holding a free networking meeting on 9th September at their business centre on Dallam Lane. Norman Denton from Business Link will be speaking at the event which starts at 10am in the Daresbury Room. Norman will be discussing the upcoming changes to Business Link's structure due to take place in October. #
• Commercial property agent Knight Frank has revealed that figures from its Regional Office Market Presentation suggest that 2011 office take up figures in Sheffield City Centre could beat those reported in 2010. The first half of this year showed a 77% increase on last year’s figures with a total of 154,340 sq ft of office space let. #
• Sheffield Hallam University has signed a lease on 38,000 square foot at the recently refurbished Aspect Court building in Sheffield City Centre. The building was renovated last year by owners Mapeley to create open plan offices and a reception area, the total refurbishment cost was £4m. The university will use the space, which is located adjacent to the Hallam campus, as a post-grad teaching facility. The deal has been completed in time for the new term in September and the space has been let on a five year lease. #
