Staff at Bizspace have joined together this month to take part in sponsored events across the country that will raise money for the company’s charity The Stroke Association.

The Bizspace team, made up of employees and management from the company’s 110 business centres across the UK, will be participating in various sporting events during September. The team are hoping to raise more than ~3,000 for the charity with sponsored events including walking, running, cycling, swimming and rowing.

Emma Long, Bizspace’s operations director commented that Bizspace is hoping that the “competitive spirit“ of their team will translate into substantial funds raised for the deserving charity.

Stokes are currently the third leading cause of death in the UK. The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation of stroke patients. The charity also runs Life After Stroke services to help the families of those affected by strokes. Emma added: “The work they do is quite remarkable and truly deserves all the support we can give“.

Head of corporate partnerships, James Beeby, expressed his gratitude to Bizspace, on behalf of the The Stroke Association, for making them their chosen charity this year. He said that the funds raised would go towards prevention and facilities that help those that survive strokes. The charity will be opening a new Life After Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove at the end of 2011.
