Abbey Business Centres in Glasgow do their bit to Help Haiti

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The recent 7.0 magnitude earthquake that has brought so much destruction to the Caribbean island of Haiti has moved millions of people across the globe to donate generously to the many appeals for aid sent out by charities and governments alike. Two weeks on and miraculously, survivors are still being pulled out the rubble alive – a sight which inspired Customer Service Co-Ordinator Karen Kernohan to take action.

With the assistance of her other team members at Abbey’s centre in Central Glasgow, Karen recently organised a raffle on behalf of their clients to raise as much money as possible for the victims of the disaster. All the prizes, including wine, toiletries and chocolates, were donated by the centre team themselves and the final figure raised came in at an impressive ~250.

John Nixon, Centre Manager for Glasgow Central, is delighted with the efforts of his team “All members of my team dug deep into their pockets to donate the prizes and I hope our contribution can go some way to helping the plight of the Haitian people in their hour of need“
