Sheffield, UK – A thrilling abseil challenge is to be staged from the roof of The Balance in the heart of Sheffield to launch the new phase of the landmark office building.
Adventurous thrill-seekers with a head for heights are being encouraged to rise to the challenge and take part in the exciting task being staged on Friday April 15.
Two abseil ropes will be fixed to the roof of the newly refurbished ten-storey building just off Trippet Lane and Townhead Street enabling brave participants to abseil down the side of the Grade A office accommodation.
The event, organised by developers CBRE Investors and the Sheffield office of commercial property consultants Knight Frank, will showcase the comprehensive refurbishment programme recently completed on the building – formerly City Plaza – and also raise vital funds for a local charity. Drinks and refreshments will be served by close neighbour Urban Deli, which has agreed a deal to open an in-house coffee shop at The Balance.
For every abseil completed CBRE Investors will donate £50 to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston near Sheffield, which offers care and support to children and young adults with a shortened life expectancy.
Knight Frank partner Tim Bottrill said: “The refurbishment of The Balance has provided a new feel to the building, completely changing the face of the property to create not only high-spec office space but also a new landmark in the city centre.
“Works include a substantial improvement to the exterior façade at ground level and first floor, open plan work space, an impressive new double height reception and a fully landscaped courtyard featuring sympathetic lighting and luxury seating areas.
“The whole ethos of The Balance focuses around an innovative combination of work and play so what better way to launch the building than with a fun charity challenge and the chance to see the new improved offices and break out areas.”
Continuing the theme of work and play, The Balance is prominently located within easy walking distance of the main retail areas of Sheffield including Leopold Square, Division Street and Fargate for lunchtime and after work visits and has a Supertram stop right outside.
New tenants can also take advantage of offers including discounted corporate gym membership at award winning Sheffield International Venues-managed Ponds Forge, car valeting and dry cleaning pick-up service.
Suites range from 1,600 ft upwards in the 25,000 sq ft building, with parking also available in a secure basement car park.
