Sheffield Offices – A specialist management team leading the regeneration of one of Sheffield’s most popular shopping areas has relocated to oversee the project at first hand.

Sheffield’s Moor management team has taken office space in the newly refurbished MidCity House, which sits at the head of the soon to be redeveloped The Moor shopping area.

The move by the Sheffield City Council-based team from Milton House in Charter Row to MidCity House, which stands just yards from the site of Sheffield’s Heart of the City project, follows a trend by businesses to take up the centrally located office space and be at the hub of the city’s renaissance.

Just one small office suite remains in MidCity House, which forms a gateway to Pinstone Street and is also within walking distance of Orchard Square shopping centre and the refurbished Leopold Square.

Tim Bottrill, partner in the Sheffield office of Knight Frank who acted with joint agent Lane Walker, let the suite of 1,000 sq ft to The Moor team on behalf of developers Turner Investments. Gary Newbould of Newbould Commercial acted for Scottish Widows which is planning the redevelopment of The Moor.

Bottrill said: “In what have probably been the worst market conditions we have ever experienced, MidCity House has been an astounding success story over the last 12 months.

“The building underwent a substantial makeover to offer space in an unparalleled location and has brought quality office suites to the market on flexible lease terms at a cost which has appealed to forward thinking business, particularly in the current economic climate.

“MidCity House is an ideal location for The Moor management team to see the future regeneration of The Moor at first hand.“

Knight Frank and Lane Walker let half of the newly refurbished space in MidCity House to three multi-media companies within just 12 weeks of the building’s release to market last summer.
